Why do long-span steel structure projects need reinforcement

        When we have not been exposed to the steel structure industry, we must not know much about it. But for professionals, they must know the reason. The same is true for steel structure space frame, so why should large-span steel structure projects be reinforced?

1. Changes in process operations cause changes in the structural layout and stress conditions of steel structures;

2. The increase of load (such as adding insulation layer to the roof of steel structure buildings, increasing the lifting capacity of cranes in steel structure workshops, or adding cranes to workshops without cranes, etc.);

3. Accidental damage, such as war damage, damage caused by natural disasters (such as earthquakes);

4. Various defects due to poor design consideration or design errors, as well as construction quality accidents of steel structure buildings. For example, the design of the truss gusset plate does not consider the construction assembly error, resulting in insufficient length of the welding seam on one side. Or the additional bending moment generated by the truss members that do not meet at one point due to the missing loads in the design causes insufficient strength of the members, or insufficient thickness of the welds, etc.;

5. The quality of the raw materials used for the steel structure does not meet the requirements;

6. Steel structure buildings are the damage caused by wear, serious corrosion and production accidents in the process of putting into use.

There are two types of reinforcement for large steel structure buildings: unloading reinforcement and load reinforcement. In order not to affect the production, it is generally tied in the original position, and the original structure is used to carry out the load state or unloading or partial unloading. The original structure was dismantled and reinforced when necessary. Of course, if the reinforcement work of the original structure is too large and its economic benefits are not high, it can also be replaced by a new structure, and the original components can be used for other purposes.
