Effective control of engineering cost of steel structure space frame

 The economic performance of steel structure space frame has attracted more attention. How to control the project cost and give full play to the comprehensive technical and economic advantages of the steel structure space frame, the engineering design stage is the key stage. In the preliminary design stage, the possibility of affecting the project cost is 75%-95%; in the technical design stage, the possibility of affecting the project cost is 35%-75%; in the construction drawing design stage, the possibility of affecting the project cost is 5%-35 %. Therefore, the quality of the design and whether the design is optimized will have a direct impact on the project cost.

There is more room for the selection of materials in the design stage of the steel structure grid. The choice of materials is different, the direct cost of the project is different, and the total cost is different. Reasonable selection of engineering materials and control of the unit price of materials or engineering quantities in the design stage are effective ways to control engineering costs.

(1) Color steel plate: Color steel plate is generally used for roof panels and wall panels of light steel factory buildings. There are different plate types, different substrate thicknesses and steel grades, different types of galvanized plates and thickness of galvanized layers, and different types of color coatings. When designing, it is necessary to comprehensively consider factors such as the nature of the plant and the atmospheric environment, and rationally select the plates to control the project cost.

(2)  High-rise steel structure building wall materials: The cost of wall materials generally accounts for 15%-25% of the cost of civil engineering.For high-rise steel structures, it is very important to select supporting, economical and energy-saving wall materials.

(3) High-rise steel structure floor deck: When designing, according to the role in the roof structure, the floor deck can take two forms, ordinary galvanized profiled steel plate and composite floor. Since the floor deck is considered as a tension reinforcement in the design, its service life must be consistent with the service life of the main steel structure, so its galvanizing amount and fire resistance time are relatively high, and the unit price is relatively high.

(4) Steel specifications and materials: Due to the increase in steel varieties, there are more component forms that can be selected in structural design. High-strength materials should be used as much as possible in the design, and economical cross-section profiles should be selected. However, considering the processing cost and construction schedule, the cost may be more advantageous.
